There are a total of six universities in Costa Rica that have made it onto the QS list of the best universities in Latin America. Currently, there is 97 percent of people in the country can read and write. The Universidad de Costa Rica, the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica UNA, the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica, the INCAE Business School, Costa Rica, and the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica are just some of the universities in Costa Rica that provide an excellent educational experience.

The Cost Of Living In Costa Rica as a Student

The cost of living in Costa Rica is significantly lower compared to that in the United States of America. It is possible that a person living alone will need to contribute approximately $1,500 per month toward their living expenses; however, if they live a more frugal lifestyle, this cost can be reduced to a significant degree as well.

Sadly, universities in Costa Rica do not provide a large number of financial aid opportunities for their students in the form of scholarships. On the other hand, there are organizations located outside the United States that fund a significant number of scholarships. Let’s take a look at each of these, shall we?

List Of Fully Funded Costa Rica Scholarships 

Asian Peacebuilders Scholarship (APS)

Those students who are interested in receiving a double Master of Arts degree from the University of Peace (in Costa Rica) and Ateneo de Manila University are eligible to apply for the Asian Peacebuilders Scholarship (APS) (The Philippine). In addition to the requirement that they hand in a field project before the end of their degree program, the primary emphasis would be placed on political science and international politics. It is a fully-funded scholarship, which means that it will cover all of the educational expenses of the students, including tuition, airfare, transit costs, visa costs, and a monthly stipend in addition to those costs. It will be presented to the thirty students who demonstrate the most exceptional talent in the following countries: Japan, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and Laos.

Diversity Abroad Scholarship

This grant is presented annually to two students, and it is sufficient to pay the insignificant costs associated with studying abroad, such as fees associated with obtaining a passport, transportation costs, and so on. In most cases, alternative sources of financing are unable to meet expenditures of this kind. The prize has a total value of $1,500, and it is open to submissions from students of any and all countries and academic disciplines. However, students who have previously attended school in another country or who come from financially disadvantaged backgrounds are typically given priority for admission.

University for International Cooperation Scholarship

The Online Master’s Program in Project Management that is offered by the University for International Cooperation (UCI) is currently accepting scholarship applications. Students from OAS member states are the only ones who can take advantage of this opportunity. Students who wish to receive a Costa Rican education but have limited proficiency in Spanish are able to participate in this program because it is instructed in English. This is the most advantageous aspect of it.

The scholarship provides reductions in tuition fees across three tiers: thirty percent, fifty percent, and ninety percent, with the highest discount level being reserved for students who have an exceptionally strong academic profile.

Environmental Studies Scholarship

Students at the University of Utah who are interested in studying environmental studies in Costa Rica can apply for scholarships through the university’s website. A scholarship in the amount of $1000 will be available to the students, and it will be awarded to them based on their academic merit. Students who are members of a minority group or who are enrolled in a program that is pursued by a relatively small number of students are eligible for the other scholarship, which is known as the Global Diversity Scholarship. The awards are given out based not only on merit but also on need.

Vaya a America Latina Merit Scholarship

Students who are attending schools in Latin America, including those in Costa Rica, are eligible to receive this scholarship. The award has a value of $2,000 and is presented to students who have an academic record that is particularly noteworthy.

Robert B. Bailey Grant

This award is reserved for students from minority groups or students who come from minority ethnic backgrounds. Because there is less competition for this scholarship than for others, there is a better possibility of being awarded it. The pupils are needed to provide a reference letter as well as proof that they are financially disadvantaged.

The amount of the scholarship is two thousand dollars.
