Recipients must be graduating seniors from a high school in one of New York City’s five boroughs, be of Congolese ancestry, and plan to attend full-time in an accredited U.S. public or private college or university in the ensuing academic year.

Blacks at Microsoft (BAM) is a company-sponsored employee network that encourages the continued growth and development of black employees at Microsoft. As evidence of their commitment to this goal, the company recently announced the creation of a study in the US scholarship to assist Congolese students, African students, and other Black Students.

FTE Fellowships for Doctoral Students of African Descent

Students from other countries who have already finished the coursework portion of a Ph.D. or Th.D. degree in religious studies, theological studies, or studies related to the Bible are eligible for financial assistance from FTE so that they can continue their education in the United States. Applicants must be citizens of Congo or international students from African soil who are enrolled or admitted full-time in a Th.D. or Ph.D. program in religion, theological studies, or biblical studies. Additionally, applicants must have completed their coursework prior to the start of the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded.

Applicants who are in the stage of writing their dissertations need to demonstrate that they will be able to study regularly throughout the fellowship year.

Least Developed Countries Scholarship

According to the United Nations criteria, the least developed countries are those with the lowest per capita income and the highest proportion of people living in extreme poverty. As per the most recent UN report, around 48 nations are designated as LDCs.

The goal of the Leon Bradley Study in the USA Scholarships Program is to increase the number of Congolese and African students, as well as students from other underrepresented groups, who pursue careers in education administration and teaching.

The American Association of School Administrators (AASPA) thinks it’s great for kids if their teachers come from all over the world and may serve as examples to their peers who are also studying abroad.

For this reason, the American Association of School Personnel Administrators will provide up to two annual international scholarships to aid students from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and a socially deprived college student seeking their initial teaching certification or endorsement, as well as up to two annual Study in the USA scholarships to aid a minority graduate student seeking their administrative credential.

One undergraduate and one graduate student from the Congo or Africa who are members of a church in the Oregon-Idaho Conference are each eligible to receive the Ethnic Leadership Study in the USA Award and foreign scholarships.

The Hubert H. Humphrey Study in the United States Scholarship Program is aimed at seasoned professionals who wish to develop their leadership skills via exposure to and discussion of topics of pressing domestic importance in the United States.
