Varna Free University Scholarships

Scholarships and other forms of financial aid are provided on an annual basis by the Verna Free University to those students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement. These students should exhibit exceptional talent in both the academic and creative spheres in order to be chosen. There are also sports scholarships available, which are designed to provide financial assistance to students who excel in athletics and compete at a high level. The tuition and fees associated with some of these scholarships are completely waived, while others only waive a portion of those costs. Eastern European Study Abroad Scholarships

Students have the opportunity to spend a semester, year, summer, short-term, or gap year studying in one of the countries of Eastern Europe if they are awarded an EESA scholarship. One of the countries that are participating in Bulgaria. The amount of funding may consist of:

  • Students with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 who are interested in participating in a summer program can receive between $100 and $600.
  • Students with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 who want to participate in a year-long program in any of the Eastern European countries are eligible to receive anywhere from $1,000 to $7,000.
  • The financial need-based award offers funding in the amount of $2,500 and requires a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5.
  • Additionally, there is a merit-based EESA award that is also worth $2,500 but requires a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
  • Students who have been awarded one of the EESA scholarships have the opportunity to compete for an additional funding opportunity of one hundred dollars. In order to be considered for this additional funding opportunity, students will need to share their scholarship experiences on the EESA blog once every two weeks.

OppU Achievers Scholarship

Another scholarship that is comparable to this one is the OppU scholarship, which is also open to students from other countries who wish to study in Bulgaria. The students who are awarded this scholarship have demonstrated exceptional leadership abilities in addition to their outstanding academic achievements. The funding amount is $2500, and it is used to pay for students’ tuition and various other educational expenses. In order to submit an application, students need to be enrolled in one of the Bulgarian universities and have a cumulative grade point average of at least three out of a possible four.

American University in Bulgaria Scholarships

There is no need to submit a separate application in order to be considered for the merit-based scholarships offered by AUBG. On the other hand, students who have submitted a separate application for a need-based grant are the only ones who are eligible to receive it.

Two students each year from Turkey, Georgia, Ukraine, or Romania are chosen to receive the Gipson Black Sea Scholarship, which has a value of $5,000 and is awarded to them. The applicant will be required to provide evidence of financial need in order to be considered for the scholarship, which is awarded for a period of four years.

Students who have excelled academically throughout high school and on the TOEFL are eligible to apply for the Pride Campaign Scholarship, which has a value of $3,000 and covers the first academic year of study.

The Philhellene Scholarship is worth $2,000 and is offered to Greek students for the first year of their studies. Greek students are the only ones eligible for this award.

Two international students from Belarus are eligible to apply for the Yury Zabello Scholarships, each of which is valued at $2,500.

A scholarship to the value of $2,500 is available through USIT to students who are citizens of Bulgaria or who come from a developing country in Asia or Eastern Europe.

Each of the four recipients of the Serdika Scholarship receives $2,400 per year to put toward their education. Freshmen students are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Students who have TOEFL scores that are significantly higher than the national average or that are exceptional can apply for the Dynamic Resources Scholarship, which is worth $2,500.
