National Development Scholarship
The Ministry of Education is responsible for administering the National Development Scholarship program. Participants must be between 18 and 40 and be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. COB Scholarships
A variety of scholarships are available to residents of Barbados through the City of Bridgetown Credit union. Among them are the Common Entrance Exams, the CSEC, the CAPE, the SJPI, the BCC, the CCIAA, and undergraduate studies, among many others. However, the amount of these scholarships can vary widely, and some have age requirements that must be adhered to qualify. Visit their website to learn more about the application forms and the steps involved in submitting each. You’ll find the specific eligibility information at the very bottom of each state.
It is important to note that the constant qualifying requirement for these scholarships is current savings account with COB, with up to $550 (BDS) on such account. This is the same regardless of the scholarship.
The application period begins each year when the leading test organizations, such as Common Entrance, CSEC, and CAPE, make the results of their examinations public. This occurs during August most often. Always remember to keep your eyes on the prize! Work diligently on your studies, and when submitting your application, don’t forget to get in touch with COB! BPWCCUL Scholarships
A variety of scholarships are available to Barbadians through the Barbados Public Worker’s Cooperative Credit Union Limited, similar to those offered by COB. People who have completed the Common Entrance Exams and the CSEC and CAPE are eligible to receive scholarships. Options for financial support are also available to students who wish to enrol at BCC, UWI, or SJPI.
In addition, if you have been honoured with a Barbados Scholarship or Exhibition, BPWCCUL may be able to provide you with additional financial support. Last but not least, if you have taken out a student loan and there is a gap in your education coverage, the BPWCCUL will provide you with a grant of up to $3,000 per semester to make up the difference in your funding.
Please consider that some scholarships have restrictions regarding age and funding. Additionally, many are dependent on the individual’s current level of financial stability. Operational savings account maintained with BPWCCUL is required to meet the criteria for eligibility for each of these scholarships.

Barbados Canada Foundation
Several scholarships are available through the Barbados Canada Foundation. Their John Rollock Memorial Scholarship is the most critical opportunity they provide. This link will take you to the application, which you can download.
